Lap order at the opening.

A set window looks the same from the street whether or not it was flashed in the right sequence. It does not stay that way. Here is the order we work in, every time.

Sill pan firstA pan or pan flashing goes in before the window, sloped out, with the back dam turned up.
Window set into the panShimmed plumb and square, fins landing flat on the sheathing. Never caulk the sill fin closed.
Jamb flashing over the finsSides go on next, lapping over the sill flashing so any water is handed downward.
Head flashing lastThe head laps over the jambs, and the housewrap laps over the head. Shingle order, top over bottom.

What we set

New-construction vinyl and fiberglass with nailing fins, sized to the rough opening. We flash the sill, set the unit, and leave you ready for wrap and cladding.
